White Paper Methodology

Executive Summary

This document describes the methodology I use to select, research, and publish white papers. It is the process by which every other white paper in this section exists.

My lens on the world is active, not passive. I am not a passive observer of technology, of AI, of the industry I build in. Everything I encounter — tools, papers, conversations, failures — passes through a filter. What survives the filter becomes a white paper.

This methodology defines the filter.

I. The Filter

Every day I encounter:

  • New AI tools, platforms, and systems
  • Papers, articles, and commentary from the field
  • Conversations with other practitioners
  • Failures and successes in my own work

Most of it does not become a white paper. Most of it is noise.

The filter is this: Does this change what I know? Does it change how I build? Does it change what I believe?

If yes — it becomes a candidate.

The filter is not passive. It requires attention, evaluation, and judgment. I do not write about everything I encounter. I write about what matters.

II. The Test

Before writing, I apply a four-part test to any candidate subject:

# Question Why it matters
1 Is the subject verified through my own experience, not just read about? Lived experience is the contribution
2 Is there a finding or a position that others can learn from? A white paper argues; it doesn’t just describe
3 Can I cite evidence — platforms tested, data collected, outcomes observed? Unsupported claims are opinion, not research
4 Does it serve the practice of sovereign AI? Alignment with the larger mission

If the answer is yes to all four — it becomes a white paper.

III. The Process

Every white paper follows the same path:

  1. Encounter — something crosses my path
  2. Test — I use it, evaluate it, work with it
  3. Document — I record what I observed in real time
  4. Argue — I take a position and defend it with evidence
  5. Publish — I add it to the portfolio

The process is not theoretical. It is grounded in actual work. Every paper in this section is a record of something I did, not something I read about.

IV. The Standard

Every paper is held to the same standard:

Element Requirement
Evidence Real sources, cited correctly
Voice The author’s voice — not templated, not AI-generated
Disclosure AI collaboration is disclosed on every paper
Sovereignty The paper aligns with the principles of sovereign AI
Citation References are verifiable and current

V. Why This Matters

White papers written by observers describe what is happening.

White papers written by practitioners describe what should happen.

I am not a passive observer. I build. I test. I document. What I write, I have lived.

The distinction matters because:

  • Observers write summaries. Practitioners write findings.
  • Observers describe trends. Practitioners shape them.
  • Observers are quoted. Practitioners are cited.

This methodology is the difference between the two.

VI. Paper Types

White papers in this section fall into one of three categories:

Type Description Examples
Platform evaluation Stress tests of AI platforms against a consistent framework DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Manus, Google, AWS, Aisha
Comparative analysis Cross-platform comparisons against shared criteria AI Platform Comparison
Methodology / practice Documents the process of building, testing, or writing Methodology, AI Collaboration

VII. The Invitation

If you are a researcher, practitioner, or builder working on sovereign AI, decentralized systems, or AI governance — this section is for you. If something here is useful, use it. If something here is wrong, tell me.

The work is ongoing. The filter is always on.

AI Collaboration Disclosure

This paper was developed in collaboration with AI. The author directed the research, structure, and argument. AI assisted with drafting, organization, and reference verification. All claims, decisions, and conclusions are the author’s own.

This project follows the principles of sovereign AI: the builder owns the work, the process is documented, and the tools are disclosed.
